I don't consider myself to be a person of many words, so I'm really banking on the old adage of a photo being worth a thousand of them...
Take a look around and let me know what you think!

Vinny is the marriage director at West Evangelical Free Church and occasionally presents conferences on personalities, better understanding ourselves and others and learning to relate to others better. I highly recommend them. Casey and I don’t attend West E. Free (though we used to…) but still try to attend as many of these seminars as we can! I’m sure you can contact Vinny, Greg or Annette to be added to the mailing list to be notified about upcoming seminars. In fact, here’s a link for more info on the next one… There is so much interesting content; I’m not sure we’ll ever be able to comprehend it all. Too, Vinny is available to meet with individuals/couples/families for a more tailored session. Anyway, the church is gearing up to present more of these seminars, so I was asked to take some photos that they hope to use to promote upcoming presentations!

The church where Lezlee and Paul made their lifelong commitments to each other just so happened to have a beautiful reminder on the marquee. For those brides who don’t feel as beautiful as they really are, no worries – because all-in-all, it’s not what’s on the outside that counts. Lezlee – I must say – has a breathtaking outward appearance and a heart of gold. I especially found that to be true when her wedding day started much differently than she had planned. Her aunt who was to be her hairdresser came down with the flu so her stepmom “stepped up” to do Lezlee’s hair; and Lezlee handled it like a champ. And Kelly did a fabulous job. And everyone kept such a wonderful attitude. And the wedding day was beautiful.

Congratulations, L & P!
I absolutely love that my business has been able to grow by word-of-mouth, and I can’t describe how wonderful it is to be able to shoot a wedding for a friend of a friend. I can probably credit Megan Dewey, whose wedding I’m working on now, as my connection with Erica and Luke. Erica and Megan worked together at the hospital in Parsons, and Luke’s sister was in Megan’s wedding! I’m really looking forward to being back in the quaint town that is Parsons, Kansas (lovingly referred to as PK by its residents!) for Erica and Luke’s wedding!
Thanks, you two, for braving the January cold for an engagement session. Side note: Luke wasn’t feeling well, but I think he still looks rather dapper in these photos – nice work…

Erica – you are adorable.

And we just had to get some with Marcie and Lyna!

Fittingly, we took a quick shot of the ring on Luke’s guitar; he improved a song on it as part of his proposal to Erica. I love artsy engagement stories…

It was great to finally be able to meet Amy and Mark and to hear their story involving matchmaking friends, birthday parties, 70s costumes, distance, Kansas City and a love that will last through anything. Their interactions are sweet and tender, and I just know they’re preparing for a beautiful marriage.

January 19, 2010 - 12:22 pm - Beautiful engagement photos Jackie! Love these.
It was a foggy start to the morning with the promise of a brilliant sun and uncharacteristically high temperatures for January. Becky planned a simple start to her day – a hair appointment by herself. As it came closer and closer to the time she would see her groom for the first time that day, her nerves worked up to it. It’s amazing, though, the peacefulness that hung in the air once she told Danny he could turn around to catch the first glimpse of his bride. Everything was suddenly as it should be. I suppose a groom has that effect on his bride, and I think it’s wonderful they opted for a first look to be able to journey through the day together.
Danny, I couldn’t have chosen a better man for Becky. I have no doubt you will be good to her…

Becky truly has a servant’s heart. So much so, that – on a day that society says is all about the bride – she hosted an art auction at her reception to be able to raise money for The Joseph Storehouse.

And to make it fun for her guests, she planned in a space for a PhotoBooth!

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Anders!
January 25, 2010 - 6:47 pm - All the Best to You and Danny. You made a beautiful bride! I enjoyed all the pictures.. May the Honeymoon Last forever!
Introducing the first-ever Jackie Cooper Photo PhotoBooth…
I just photographed a dear friend’s wedding (sneak preview coming soon…), and so she was a great subject to be able to experiment on… (Thanks, Becky!) I’ve been wanting to try this idea out, and this was a great crowd for it! There could certainly be some tweaking, but I’m so pleased with how this first run turned out.
For example:

We had all kinds of groups, like co-workers…

Good friends offering advice…

Some inside jokes…

And just all-around creative artistry!

And these just COULD NOT have been done without the awesomeness of Kasey Candea-Kromm and her wonderful assistants – Thalia, Courtney and Chelsea (right). GREAT work you four… Kasey (with her husband on the left) definitely has a knack for this – she took all these wonderful photos (except for, of course, the ones she’s in)…

His family…

Her family… (absolutely adore this one of you three!)

And I’ll end with the epic jumps of Becky and Kristen. Sorry I had to ruin the photo by looking constipated. Listen – there’s a reason I hang out behind the camera…

Click here to view the full lineup of photos from this first-ever PhotoBooth! I hope to keep tweaking this concept to offer to other couples. Brides and grooms, if you’re interested in this, give me a shout!
So…thoughts?

Well, he’s not an uncle, and – as far as I know – doesn’t have any particular affiliation with birds, but Bradlie was lovingly referred to as Uncle Birdie Bradlie by some kids at a small Denver church where Bradlie and a few others volunteered one weekend. You see, Bradlie lived at the same camp that we did, and was a tremendous help in working with the two young men just beginning the Christian Leadership Training Program. His journey has since brought him to Wichita (just like us!), and now it is taking him back to California. He will be sorely missed here, but I have no doubt that he’ll try to make it back to visit the many people he’s grown close to here.
His mom will be happy to have him back in CA and to have these stunning photos of her son!

Seriously, Bradlie, California isn’t a bad place to start your modeling career…

Umm…check out these kicks!
